We recommend using tall shelving units in the Interstar. It is a large van, and the cargo area’s height should be fully utilized with shelves.
The Interstar has high rear wheel arches, which is why shelving and drawer units designed for it come with elevated lower cabinets. Keep the wheel arch height in mind when assembling open shelving as well.
Note: The Nissan Interstar has wind latches on the rear double doors that extend into the cargo area when the doors are closed. Because of this, the side wall furniture cannot be placed all the way to the back. Before securing any furniture, ensure that the rear doors can close properly.
When selecting shelves, consider practicality – it’s helpful if you can access the shelves and pull-out drawers without having to step inside the van.
Utilize the ends of shelves and the walls near the doors. These are excellent locations for accessories, such as hangers and hose/cable holders.
Long drawer units installed on the floor are a great alternative to wall-mounted shelves. These long drawers can also be stacked on top of each other, for example, against the partition wall, allowing them to open outwards through the sliding door.
